I asked my friend Ellie, who’s an artist, a barista and a kick ass fighter of mental illness if she would be interested in collaborating once again like before in the past. A collaboration focused on a mental disorder called Eating Disorder. It was important that i work with someone who could understand about this disorder on a personal level. it would help me - F&A - connect deeper with anyone who dealt with an eating disorder. Anyway, Ellie was on board. YES. I told her the design on our collaboration was all on her. I believed in whatever she would come up with.

After some time the design was ready. The design had the words “ Nourish To Flourish “

I then asked her, so i could know why she choose these words - Why Nourish To Flourish?

Ellie’s Response: To me it’s kind of been a mantra since I started treatment that really brought the whole process down to something simple. If I wanted to get better, feel better, do better, I needed to feed myself. Feeding myself had to be the first step. If you want to flourish, to live and to just be as a living thing, nourishing is necessary. Every living thing can only flourish if it is being nourished. It just made it feel so matter of fact. Its like I’ve been told in every treatment center I’ve been at- the first step to fighting this fight is to eat the food. A therapist i once saw always said “step one is eat your food”

And i loved her response.

Nourish To Flourish will be a campaign in the hopes that it will get people to start talking, start asking for help and maybe get people to start eating, so they can live out their best life.
